Position Overview
We are excited to offer a Level 3 apprenticeship opportunity for a Materials Testing Technician. This role is essential in supporting the construction, infrastructure, and energy sectors by providing comprehensive solutions to various challenges.
The Role
- As a Materials Testing Technician Apprentice, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate registration and processing of samples in the laboratory.
- You will assist the team leader in the daily operations of the lab while adhering to quality and health & safety protocols.
- Your training will focus on the following key areas:
- Conducting sampling and testing of construction materials, soils, aggregates, and concrete according to established standards and client specifications.
- Performing point of work risk assessments.
- Verifying that all equipment is calibrated and reporting any issues to your supervisor.
- Documenting all records, readings, and results accurately.
- Providing clear instructions to site teams based on a thorough understanding of client expectations.
- Delivering precise data to demonstrate compliance with standards.
- Executing tests using calibrated equipment to ensure quality assurance.
Due to the nature of this role, a Full Driving License and access to a vehicle are necessary. Additionally, the ability to lift up to 20kg is required.

Training Structure
Over the course of the apprenticeship, you will engage in a minimum of 6 hours of 'off the job' training each week. This will include theoretical learning and practical training, ensuring you develop the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in your career.
Eligibility Criteria
