Job Summary
We are currently recruiting for a Part Time Driver with previous healthcare experience to facilitate patient transport service needs of the hospital as and when required.
Please note you need to have a D1 licence to drive the minibus unless you passed your test before 1997. Due to policies you need to be 21 years old or over and to have held a full UK driving licence for over 24 months.
Main Responsibilities
As a Part Time Driver with Cygnet Health Care, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of patients to and from hospital appointments and other healthcare facilities.
You will be working 20 hours a week, weekdays only, with split shifts of 7:30am-10:30am and 14:30-17:30. You will be responsible for:
- Ensuring the company vehicle used is refuelled and to check the vehicle before going out and after return, keeping it clean inside and out and reporting any faults/damage.
- Transporting patients to and from hospital appointments and other healthcare facilities, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times.
- Working in partnership with escorting clinical staff and colleagues to provide the best standard of care to our patients.
- Providing excellent customer service skills to enable you to work effectively with patients, staff and other stakeholders.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to:
- Hold a valid full UK driving license with no more than 3 points and be able to drive an automatic vehicle.
- Have extensive experience of driving in cities and motorways, both day and night time.
- Have some previous healthcare experience, ideally in a patient transport or care setting.
- Be able to navigate around an area using sat nav or maps.
- Be able to plan and keep to a schedule.
- Be physically fit for getting in and out of vehicles and loading and unloading.
- Be willing to work unsupervised.
- Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
