About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Locum Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our maternity services team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support and complement secondary and tertiary obstetric services
  • Take a leading role in improving the quality of services
  • Take clinical responsibility for a defined cohort of women under their care
  • Deliver outpatient clinics as agreed
  • Participate in the consultant rota patterns for daytime and out-of-hours working
  • Provide out-of-hours care as described in individual job plans
  • Undertake necessary administrative work relating to the post
  • Be responsible for the obstetric and gynaecology training of junior staff and undergraduate students
  • Participate in clinical teaching and training of the wider multidisciplinary team
  • Take an active role in Clinical Governance and lead and participate in audit projects relevant to clinical practice
  • Promote research and academic activity within the trust
