Job Title: Head of Talent and Leadership Development

Weir is seeking a highly experienced and strategic talent and leadership development professional to join our Centre of Expertise team as Head of Talent and Leadership Development. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the organization's talent and leadership development strategy and contribute to the company's success.

About the Role:

The Head of Talent and Leadership Development will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing talent and leadership development programs that align with Weir's strategy and strategic people plans. This includes developing and executing a global talent and leadership development strategy, partnering with HR teams and business leaders to identify critical talent needs, and implementing effective talent strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a global talent and leadership development strategy aligned with Weir's strategy and strategic people plans.
  • Partner with HR teams and business leaders to identify critical talent needs and implement effective talent strategies to attract, develop, and retain top talent.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate leadership development programs tailored to various levels of leadership within the organization.
  • Develop talent programs that develop a diverse pipeline of high-potential employees.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to band 5 leaders to enhance their effectiveness.
  • Partner with HR and senior leadership to ensure active succession plans are in place for Band 4 and above roles.
  • Ensure that Weir's Performance Conversations philosophy and approach successfully develops and maintains a high-performance culture, promotes accountability, recognizes achievement, and drives continuous improvement.
  • Utilize data-driven insights to measure the effectiveness of talent and leadership development programs, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent education/training, in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or Psychology.
  • Strategic, established thought leader in talent development, leadership development, and organisational development in global businesses delivering demonstrable impact.
  • Previous experience at this level, delivering outcomes as outlined in the section above, in a Centre of Expertise for a global business.
  • Previous experience of talent and leadership governance processes/reporting within a publicly listed business is desirable.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and talent management best practices.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Inspiring and leading others to ensure high levels of team engagement, inclusion, and successful delivery of shared goals.
  • Proven proficiency in facilitation at a senior level (e.g. talent review meetings, leadership development programmes).
  • Trained in relevant psychometric tools. An Executive Coaching qualification is highly desirable.
