About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior or Associate Building Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Cambridge. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects, providing professional advice and overseeing all aspects of building surveying.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting thorough building surveys, condition assessments, and preparing detailed reports.
  • Managing refurbishment, renovation, and repair projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Preparing specifications, schedules of work, and tender documentation.
  • Advising clients on maintenance, repair, and conservation of buildings, including historic and listed properties.
  • Undertaking contract administration, ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
  • Providing expert advice on building defects, repairs, and health and safety issues.
  • Engaging in client relationship management, including business development and networking to secure new opportunities.
  • Mentoring and supporting junior surveyors, contributing to their professional development and the overall success of the team.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • MRICS qualified with significant experience in building surveying.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building construction, pathology, and statutory compliance.
  • Proven track record in managing projects and delivering client-focused services.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Experience with historic and listed buildings is desirable but not essential.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and technology used in building surveying.
