About the Role

We are seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at Overstone Park School, a non-selective independent school registered with DFE and ISI for boys and girls aged 5 to 18 years.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide support to teachers and other staff in addressing the needs of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). This will involve working with a range of pupils, prioritizing those who need the most help, and providing tuition to disengaged pupils at home.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to teachers and other staff in addressing the needs of children with SEND
  • Work with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small or large groups, acting as a listener, mentor, facilitator for learning, encourager, motivator, and role model
  • Support the ethos of the school and improve progress and achievement by helping to minimize barriers to learning and maximize pupil participation
Requirements
  • Qualification in Level 2 or 3 in childcare or Health and Social Care or above
  • Three years of working with children or within the care sector
  • Training is offered
