About the Role

Cornwall Mining Consultants, a leading mining subsidence and mundic expert in the south west, is seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist to join their team in Camborne. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and conducting field work, environmental consulting, soil analysis, and contaminated land assessments on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field work and geological assessments to identify potential hazards and risks
  • Develop and implement environmental consulting strategies to mitigate the impact of mining subsidence
  • Analyze soil samples and contaminated land to determine the extent of contamination
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, solicitors, estate agents, surveyors, and developers to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
  • Train in mining subsidence research and assessment, and on-site mining hazard investigation
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of practical experience in environmental geology or a related field
  • Experience with the CLEA model and knowledge of CL:AIRE
  • Strong background in geology and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and in a team
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in geology, environmental science, or a related field
