We are seeking a skilled Music Coordinator with Teaching Responsibilities to join our team at Ruskin Mill Trust. As a Music Coordinator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering music sessions to individuals or small groups of students with learning disabilities and complex needs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering music sessions to meet the individual needs and learning requirements of students.
- Encouraging students to prepare and perform pieces of music, whether solo or as a group, at festivals and school or Trust performances.
- Assessing students' learning needs and making reasonable adjustments as required.
- Working creatively with different musical styles and acoustic, unplugged instruments to meet the varied needs of our students.
- Positively role modeling behaviors and attitudes.
- Supporting students on their life journey by developing good rapport and giving appropriate challenges that build their self-confidence to participate in the cultural life of the community.
- Working alongside and supporting teachers and teaching assistants to deliver music in the classroom.
- Preparing suitable music for seasonal festivals and performances and supervising rehearsals with students and staff.
- Collaborating with other teachers and therapists to coordinate cross-discipline learning sessions and experiences.
- Leading CPD to develop staff confidence and skill in singing and teaching music fundamentals.
- Maintaining the instrument collection and the organization of the music room.
