Position Overview

The Junior Management Accountant plays a crucial role in the finance department, reporting directly to the Finance Manager within a dynamic and welcoming Management Accounts team. This position encompasses a variety of management accounting tasks.

A flexible approach to work is essential to accommodate the business's needs during critical periods in the financial calendar.

The ideal candidate will be tasked with overseeing various financial activities, including the management of bank accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journal preparation, weekly financial reporting, and both routine and ad-hoc financial analyses.

Building strong collaborative relationships with other departments, such as credit control, accounts payable, and project finance, will be a key focus of this role.

This position also offers study support for a relevant chartered accountancy qualification, such as CIMA or ACCA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly comprehensive bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Execute monthly journal entries.
  • Analyze monthly costs for project recharges and overheads.
  • Assist in the preparation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports.
  • Manage fixed asset analysis and maintenance.
  • Support the monthly financial closing process, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
  • Assist with month-end profit and loss and balance sheet evaluations.
  • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Proactively identify and implement process improvements.
  • Provide assistance during internal and external audits.
  • Deliver ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed.
Qualifications
  • Part Qualified in CIMA or ACCA.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Experience with computerized financial systems and software.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to process enhancements.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, efficient, and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in cross-department collaboration.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for learning and professional development.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in management accounts within a similar sector.
  • Familiarity with Oracle accounting systems.
