Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Senior to join our growing team at Gainham Recruitment. As a key member of our accounting practice, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, preparing business plans and forecasts, and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of clients with lead accounting and finance input, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure their financial well-being.
  • Prepare and present business plans and forecasts to clients, identifying areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Oversee the production, review, and submission of annual statutory accounts, confirmation statements, and other compliance documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Conduct pre-year-end checks with clients to identify risks and opportunities in terms of financial reporting and tax planning, providing proactive solutions to mitigate any issues.
  • Produce monthly management information, tailored to clients' specific needs and requirements, to inform their business decisions.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts periodically, maintaining clear and transparent supporting schedules to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Line-manage one to two Assistant Management Accountants, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to help them grow in their roles.

Requirements:

  • Experience as a qualified Accountant in industry and/or practice, with a strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of preparing management and year-end statutory accounts, with excellent communication skills to liaise with clients on results.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with a sound knowledge of financial reporting, including experience with trial balances, balance sheets, and charts of account.
  • Ability to produce management information, including management accounts and KPI reporting, to inform business decisions.
