Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Clinical Pharmacist to join our Transformation Unit as a key member of the Surgery Care Group. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient-focused clinical pharmacy services to patients within the Major Trauma Centre.

Main Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Clinical Governance
    • Develop and implement clinical pharmacy policies and guidelines in conjunction with senior pharmacists within the clinical pharmacy team and Surgery Care Group.
    • Work closely with the Associate Chief Pharmacist Clinical Services to develop and monitor the delivery of clinical pharmacy services, ensuring efficient use of resources and systems.
  • Clinical Pharmacy Services
    • Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services and advice to clinical specialties, demonstrating a high level of clinical effectiveness.
    • Develop a clinical interest within a chosen area of clinical practice to support clinical service to specific groups of patients within the Major Trauma and Trauma & Orthopaedic service lines.
  • Education and Training
    • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals, including medical students, on clinical pharmacy services and best practices.
  • Quality Improvement and Research
    • Engage with quality improvement initiatives and practice research to improve clinical pharmacy services and patient outcomes.
Person Specification
  • Qualifications
    • Master's Degree (or equivalent) in Pharmacy.
    • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
    • Postgraduate Clinical Pharmacy Certificate.
    • Non-medical prescriber (or must be willing to undertake this when requested).
  • Knowledge and Experience
    • Excellent proven knowledge of clinical pharmacy and drug use within the area of major trauma and orthopaedics.
    • Demonstrable experience in a range of clinical specialties.
    • Proven skills in effective leadership, successful communication, negotiating, persuasion, and influencing.
