About the Individual:

  • The young adult requires assistance with various tasks due to his cognitive/learning disabilities, epilepsy, and sensory sensitivities.
  • You will play a crucial role in administering first aid and emergency medication when necessary, ensuring his well-being during epileptic episodes.
  • Maintaining a smoke-free and perfume-free environment is essential for his health and comfort.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized care, including assistance with toileting, bathing, dressing, and other daily living activities.
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with medication management, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines.
  • Contribute to a clean and organized home environment by assisting with household chores and light housekeeping tasks.
  • Develop a strong and trusting relationship based on empathy, respect, and understanding.
  • Actively monitor his mobility and provide support as needed within the home setting.

  • Follow instructions accurately and exercise patience when providing support.
  • Possess excellent listening and communication skills to effectively understand and respond to his needs.
  • Show genuine empathy and provide emotional support to enhance his well-being.
  • Previous experience in caregiving is beneficial but not essential, as comprehensive training will be provided.

Experience with epilepsy care is crucial, and a commitment to providing person-centered support is paramount.
