About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Dietitian to join our team in Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist dietetic advice to children, young people, and families presenting with complex eating disorders.

The post holder will work closely with the Eating Disorders Team to develop and provide a comprehensive and effective specialist service. This will include specialist clinical oversight for children, young people, and families within the services ARFID pathway.

The ideal candidate will have significant post-qualifying experience in the relevant care group and be able to demonstrate expertise in conducting clinical assessments, including risk assessments. They will also have experience of supervising staff and providing a range of clinical interventions to people with complex health problems.

The successful candidate will be able to develop good therapeutic relationships and communicate effectively with individuals, families, carers, and groups about difficult or complex matters. They will also be able to travel across sites and work as part of a wider multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver specialist and specific dietetic advice to children, young people, and families presenting with complex eating disorders
  • Work closely with the Eating Disorders Team to develop and provide a comprehensive and effective specialist service
  • Conduct clinical assessments, including risk assessments, and provide a range of clinical interventions to people with complex health problems
  • Supervise staff and provide training and support to ensure high-quality care
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with individuals, families, carers, and groups
Person Specification
  • Registered Dietician with current registration, appropriate to the job role
  • Completion of Mentorship Course/ENB equivalent
  • Evidence of postgraduate study in dietetics or other relevant clinical area
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in the relevant care group
  • Experience of working alongside people with complex health problems in the designated care group
  • Experience of supervising staff and providing a range of clinical interventions to people with complex health problems
