Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Theatre Support Apprentice who is eager to advance to the Level 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship. This role involves working closely with our committed surgical team within a state-of-the-art surgical facility.

As a Theatre Support Apprentice, you will engage in a comprehensive in-house training program and care certificate, covering all essential competencies necessary for delivering safe, individualized, patient-centered care.

This apprenticeship lasts for 12 months, after which you may be considered for the Senior Healthcare Support Worker Apprenticeship. This pathway can serve as a foundation for further education, such as the ODP Apprenticeship or Nursing Associate Apprenticeship.

Qualifications Required

To be eligible for this exciting opportunity, candidates must have achieved a minimum of grade C/4 in Maths and English GCSEs, functional skills Level 2, or an equivalent qualification approved by the ESFA. At East Suffolk and North Essex NHS Foundation Trust, we are dedicated to nurturing and supporting our staff who aspire to grow within the healthcare sector.

The surgical hub provides both elective and emergency surgical services, operating 24 hours a day. It features eight operating theatres, including one dedicated emergency theatre, an urgent surgical theatre, and six elective theatres.

The specialties covered include General Surgery, Plastics, Breast Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Urology, Colorectal Surgery, ENT, and the latest innovation in robotic surgery utilizing the Da Vinci Robot.

Main Responsibilities

This role is ideal for an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a strong interest in patient-centered care and the surgical environment. Your responsibilities will include:
