Role Summary

We are seeking a talented Junior Designer to join our Accessories design team at FatFace. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for researching, interpreting, and designing printed softs and cold weather accessories ranges across Women's and Men's. You will work closely with the buyer and under the guidance of the Senior Designer to produce product that delivers key trends of the season, shapes the range for our customers, and follows our brand DNA and ethos.

Key Responsibilities
  • Research and interpret trends to inform design decisions
  • Design and develop ranges with the buyer based on sales and trend information
  • Conduct market research to identify the latest trends and competitors
  • Present ranges to the team and Senior team each season, ensuring you present your product vision and identify key trends
  • Liaise with suppliers on product, design detail, and fabrics
  • Support Senior Designer in research themes and directions for Design Presentation
Requirements
  • Degree or equivalent in Fashion-based subject
  • 3+ years of experience at Assistant/Junior Designer level
  • Presentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with externals and Senior Management
  • Good research skills
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload
Competencies
  • Strong eye for trends and understanding of the FatFace brand
  • Be organised, a self-starter, and able to prioritise own workload
  • Fantastic knowledge of fabrics, yarns, stitches, and trims, with a keen eye for details
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator)
  • Ability to convey designs from paper to 3D design
  • Good knowledge of Factory processes and be able to articulate yourself clearly and confidently when communicating with suppliers
  • Creative and able to convey vision of FatFace Brand
  • Comprehensive understanding of customer profile, product range, and competitors
  • Demonstrate knowledge of trend within the marketplace
  • Be resilient in working at pace, adapting to change, and open to constructive feedback
