Job Summary
We are seeking a talented Relief Chef Manager to support our business across the South West M4 Corridor region and surrounding areas. As a key member of our culinary team, you will have previous experience of working within fast-paced kitchens at either Head Chef or Chef Manager level within contract catering, ideally in independent schools or business and industry settings.
Key Responsibilities
- To cover Head Chef/Chef Manager holiday and sickness, ensuring seamless service delivery and maintaining high standards.
- To support with mobilisations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training.
- To troubleshoot at locations requiring additional support, resolving issues efficiently and effectively.
- To cover a vacancy, taking on additional responsibilities as needed.
- To produce food for service using fresh ingredients, cooking from scratch, and following the company's brand standards.
- To create bespoke seasonal menus from regional and local suppliers, showcasing creativity and innovation.
- To complete food costings as required, ensuring accurate financial management.
- To complete company bookwork, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- To ensure company food standards are adhered to, minimizing waste and maintaining a high level of quality.
- To ensure all Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen control procedures are followed, maintaining a safe working environment.
Requirements
- A genuine interest in food and excellent customer service skills, with a passion for delivering exceptional service.
- Excellent client relationship skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- An all-round team player and leader, with the ability to motivate and inspire others.
- Innovation and passion for great food, with a creative approach to menu planning and food preparation.
- An organized Relief Chef Manager with attention to detail, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Sound financial understanding, with the ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
- Ability to demonstrate a good understanding and use of verbal English, with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to demonstrate a good standard of written English and reading skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and reports.
- Similar experience in a customer and/or food preparation environment is essential, with a recognized cooking qualification such as City & Guild 706/1 & 2 or equivalent.
