Job Title: Functional Safety Compliance Engineer

Renishaw PLC is seeking a highly skilled Functional Safety Compliance Engineer to join our Encoder Products Division. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the functional safety and compliance of our products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Re-certify functional safety products and maintain business certification.
  2. Provide guidance and training on functional safety procedures, system architectures, and risk assessments.
  3. Assess designs of safety circuits and systems to achieve defined safety ratings.
  4. Undertake machinery safety assessments and manage all aspects of '13849' Part 1 (& 2) and related standards.
Requirements:
  1. Educated to a higher education level (minimum HNC) in an engineering-based subject.
  2. Familiarity and experience with various types of electro-mechanical machines and systems.
  3. Hazard analysis and risk assessment techniques, with demonstrable experience.
  4. Experience of working on a range of products from initial specification of functional safety requirements through to certification.
  5. High level of PC literacy and experience in document writing.
Desirable:
  1. Experience with equipment electrical qualification and/or conducting functional safety assessments.
  2. Creation of safety cases and knowledge of IEC 61508:2010 parts 0-7 and IEC 62061:2021.
