Science Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Science Technician to join our team at Teaching Personnel. As a Science Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our science teachers and providing technical assistance to the science department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting Science Teachers: Assist science teachers in preparing experiments and practical scientific work, ensuring that pupils achieve maximum success in their practical work.
• Providing Technical Support: Offer technical support to the science department, including maintaining science apparatus and keeping stocks of chemicals.
• Preparing Materials and Equipment: Prepare materials, equipment, and teaching aids for classroom use, ensuring that they are in optimum condition.
• Maintaining Laboratory Equipment: Keep science apparatus maintained and in optimum condition, ensuring that it is safe and functional for use.

Requirements:

• Strong Academic Background: A strong academic background in Science, preferably with a Science-related degree.
• Lab Experience: Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a secondary school or similar environment.
• Enhanced DBS: An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role.
• Education Workforce Council Registration: Registration with the Education Workforce Council is also required.
