Our Vision

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Technical Manager to join our team. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and legal production of products, through the effective management and implementation of our Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Responsibilities

  • Deputize for the Head of Technical during periods of absence
  • Act as the primary point of contact for retail Technical Managers, responding promptly to their requests and addressing any issues related to our products and processes
  • Manage a set of customer Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and reporting metrics, ensuring timely delivery against agreed targets
  • Safeguard the company's adherence to all reporting deadlines, both internal and external
  • Ensure the full cascading, implementation, and continuous improvement of all aspects of the QMS
  • Support the implementation of the QMS system across the site(s), as cascaded by the Site Technical Manager
  • Direct management and coaching of direct reports, with clear development plans
  • Knowledge and consistent use of the incident management system, site alert system, and root cause analysis to drive robust preventative action plans
  • Trended GMP data and corresponding improvement plans owned by the site teams
  • Robust improvement plans against trended data, supported as appropriate with root cause analysis
  • Overarching management of technical training materials and associated team training matrices, with a 'mapped' training requirement for each role
  • Lead the sites HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams
  • Have a working knowledge of relevant customer codes of practice, ensuring internal 'ways of working' accurately reflect them
  • Ensure all 'End product' specifications are accurate and supported with a multi-departmental sign-off, prior to issuing, and are aligned to internal factory specifications and QAS
  • Trend all microbiological data, ensuring plans are in place to tackle out-of-specification trends and proactively prevent further deviations
  • Ensure Technical KPIs are accurately communicated across the site

Requirements

  • Proven track record of developing, leading, and motivating high-performing teams
  • Extensive experience in proactive QA team management, with the ability to drive the department forward
  • Experience in Technical systems implementation and development, demonstrating continuous improvement
  • Broad experience gained working with major retailers, with a trusted and earned reputation for absolute integrity
  • Ability to simultaneously manage numerous projects and workstreams
