About the Role

Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Bank Dementia Team as a Healthcare Support Worker. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside our Admiral Nurse led Dementia Team and contribute to the provision of optimal care for our Dementia patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver person-centered care to patients living with Dementia, providing physical and emotional support as needed.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and carers, addressing complex and sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team to ensure seamless care delivery, adapting to changing environments and priorities.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in Dementia care, with a focus on meeting the minimum skill set within the first 12 months of appointment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a Health/Health and Social Care role, with a minimum of 12 months' experience in Dementia care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to demonstrate the required behavior in keeping with the Trust Values, including patience, dependability, and motivation.
  • Willingness to undertake further training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in Dementia care.
