Position Summary: The Surfacing Supervisor will oversee all operational elements within the National Highways Strategic network, focusing on scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management. This role is critical in ensuring that all site operations adhere to health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and ensure compliance with all company Health, Safety & Environmental Policies and procedures by all operatives.
  • Monitor material application to ensure correct thicknesses, minimizing waste and reducing environmental impact, particularly regarding carbon footprint.
  • Ensure adherence to Sector 16 requirements, including temperature monitoring and daily laying documentation, while maintaining a 'Right 1st Time' approach.
  • Maintain daily record sheets, including traffic management logs, equipment inspections, defect reports, and waste transfer documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial and Finance Departments to track costs and prepare final financial accounts.
  • Provide monthly KPI data by the specified deadline, including exposure hours, planned tonnages, waste metrics, and vehicle/plant information for carbon footprint analysis.
  • Participate in team briefings and contribute to team discussions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Valid UK Driving Licence
  • Proven experience in supervision within the asphalt or surfacing sector
  • CSCS Manager certification
