Job Title: Volunteer Team Leader

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Volunteer Team Leader to support the Area Operations Manager in the North West region. The successful candidate will provide guidance to a growing number of active volunteers and our in-house team, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of tasks and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage volunteer groups, task days, and lock keepers to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement volunteering opportunities on locks and waterways.
  • Deliver training to volunteers in accordance with set standards.
  • Identify and prioritize tasks, ensuring effective use of resources and equipment.
  • Collaborate with the Area Operations Manager to plan and coordinate tasks, ensuring alignment with Trust objectives.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are suitable for tasks, in good condition, and used correctly.
  • Prepare and implement safe systems of work, induct volunteers, and manage safe delivery.
  • Support communication within the team, sharing relevant corporate messages and providing feedback to enhance planning.

About You:

  • Experience in a relevant environment, such as volunteering, environmental works, customer service, or maintenance.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy, with good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • UK driving license essential.
