Salary: £26,196 for day shift, £26,999 for the 2 shift pattern

Hours: 1st role Monday - Friday 8am-4:30pm, 2nd role Monday - Friday on shift of 6am-2:30pm & 9am-6pm

Job Summary:

We are seeking two experienced Waste Transfer Station Operatives to join our client's team in Weston-Super-Mare on a permanent basis. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the transfer station, including meeting and greeting contractors, loading and unloading vehicles, and overseeing traffic management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and Greet Contractors: Provide a warm welcome to contractors providing services to the transfer station.
  • Loading and Unloading: Load and unload vehicles using a Wheeled 360 material handler and loading shovel.
  • Traffic Management: Oversee all traffic management of the site and control the flow of waste deposits into the site.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere to and ensure others adhere to legal requirements and health and safety rules and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Full Clean Driving License: Possess a valid full clean driving license.
  • Experience with Heavy Machinery: Have experience with wheel excavators/material handlers, mobile loading shovels, and forklifts.
  • Physical Ability: Be physically able to carry out manual handling and cleaning duties.
  • Communication Skills: Demonstrate excellent communication skills in dealing with members of the public with respect and courtesy.
