We are seeking a dedicated Behaviour Support Officer to join our team at an Ofsted-graded 'GOOD' secondary school in Blackburn. As a Behaviour Support Officer, you will play a vital role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

About the Role:

The Behaviour Support Officer will provide 1:1 and small group support for students with behavioural challenges, implementing and following individualized behaviour plans to support students in managing their behaviour. You will work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral staff, and parents to ensure consistent behavioural strategies are in place.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with behavioural challenges to help them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Develop and implement behaviour plans to support students in managing their behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers and pastoral staff to ensure consistent behavioural strategies are in place.
  • Use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.
  • Promote positive behaviour across the school and encourage students' social and emotional development.
  • Monitor and report on student progress, contributing to wider school goals.

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with behavioural challenges.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to managing challenging situations.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families.
