Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Production Planning Manager to lead our production planning and scheduling team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the production of finished goods and sales orders, as well as developing and implementing planning and scheduling policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the production planning and scheduling team to ensure high performance and productivity.
- Develop and implement planning and scheduling policies and procedures to ensure efficient production and delivery of goods.
- Oversee the production of finished goods and sales orders, including setting and operating planning, stores, and raw materials policies and systems.
- Manage and maintain accurate production scheduling data to ensure proper planning and execution.
- Provide leadership and development opportunities to the team through coaching, motivating, and goal setting.
- Authorise holidays and other types of absences, adhering to company policy.
- Undertake appraisals and performance reviews as and when required, highlighting training and development needs.
- Take responsibility for full and comprehensive induction of all new personnel before they commence work.
- Manage underperforming employees by setting targets and deadlines and following through in accordance with company policy.
Requirements:
- Extensive production planning and master scheduling background within an engineering manufacturing environment.
- Flexible with the ability to work to deadlines and the determination to see a job through to a satisfactory conclusion.
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Numerate and IT literate with an excellent working knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft packages in order to compile and analyse performance statistics and deliver reports.
- Demonstrable track record within a production and planning team with experience and knowledge of MRP/ERP tools and systems.
