About the Role

Gunnercooke LLP, a Top 80 law firm with recognition across 28 disciplines and over 50 individually ranked lawyers, is seeking an experienced Associate to join their Dispute Resolution team.

The firm has a national and international presence, with offices throughout the UK, Scotland, Germany, and the US. Their purpose is to deliver a positive impact for their clients, provide a better life for their people, and leave a better world than they found.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of matters, including shareholder and partnership disputes, contractual disputes, Crypto Disputes, and defamation claims.
  • Work with the Litigation Partner to develop process and improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee the development of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide end-to-end technical support to the litigation team.
  • Prepare and present work and strategy reports to the Partner.
Requirements
  • 4+ years post-qualification experience or more, with previous experience at a Top 200 firm.
  • Previous experience managing a varied corporate caseload.
  • Pro-active, efficient, organised, keen to take the initiative, and to drive transactions forward.
  • Commercial awareness and negotiating skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to build strong rapport and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills (specifically Outlook, Microsoft Excel/Word and Data Rooms).
  • Ability to plan work and prioritise tasks.
  • Work well with others as well as an individual.
