About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AML Compliance Specialist to join our team at RPC. As an AML Compliance Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our clients and matters are compliant with anti-money laundering regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct client due diligence checks on our clients and matters in line with AML/CTF regulations and draft corresponding risk assessments for review and approval.
  • Escalate higher-risk clients and matters to the Risk team and/or MLRO for review and approval, making recommendations for next steps and supporting further research as needed.
  • Liaise with our lawyers to identify and verify information about our clients and matters to support risk assessments.
  • Effectively use open sources and other available databases to research and document information relevant to our clients and matters.
  • Manage your own workload and follow up with fee earners to ensure CDD is progressing on assigned work.
  • Manage the centralised team inbox, addressing general CDD queries and ensuring work is fairly distributed among team members.
  • General client and matter onboarding administration, including saving documentation in iManage and approving clients when CDD is complete in Aderant.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a client and matter onboarding role or an AML-focused role in any sector.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Desirable Skills

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience with using World Check / Compliance Catalyst / Orbis.
  • Experience with using Intapp.
  • Experience of working in the legal sector.
  • Experience with drafting risk assessments and completing CDD checks.
