Job Summary

Position 1 Recruitment is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our client's food manufacturing site. As a key member of the operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of automated machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate to a high degree of both Health & Safety and good housekeeping standards.
  • Implement and maintain HSE protocols, including Permit to Work, Risk Assessment, Method Statement, Safe System of Work, and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure lock-off procedures are followed at all times to guarantee the safety of self and others on site.
  • Perform small projects and modifications as required, and assess breakdowns to determine the most effective course of action.
  • Collaborate with the team to share proposals for improvements across the site.
  • Develop, create, and implement maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct Predictive Maintenance (PM) inspections and maintenance, and perform corrective maintenance repairs promptly.
  • Carry out general maintenance tasks, including lubrication schedules, to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess mechanical and electrical experience in manufacturing environments, proficiency in Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and a strong aptitude for fault diagnosis.

A recognized engineering qualification, such as City and Guilds in Electrical/Mechanical disciplines, is required. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently, taking full responsibility for their tasks and actions.

This is a full-time position with a 4 on 4 off shift schedule, including nights. Benefits include 23 days of annual holiday, free on-site parking, a quarterly attendance bonus of £200, and life insurance.
