Job Summary

Huphuphup is seeking a highly motivated and experienced transport planner to join our Development Planning Team in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic individual with exceptional transport planning skills and specialist knowledge of transport for development, including analysis and assessment experience.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage sizeable projects to scope and budget, maintaining relationships with public and private sector clients.
  2. Support negotiations with Local Authorities and other regulatory bodies.
  3. Apply technical standards, such as Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Manual for Streets, and Local Authority Design Guides.
  4. Utilize industry-standard junction capacity assessment software, including Junctions 10 and LinSig, with experience in larger network modeling.
  5. Prepare fee proposals for new projects.
  6. Develop and inspire less-experienced team members by sharing knowledge.
  7. Contribute to other projects across the advisory group as required.

Requirements

  1. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
  2. Good technical writing skills and proficiency in MS Office products, including Excel and Word.
  3. Ability to work independently, leading a project or working within a team.
  4. Manage team resources and mentor junior staff.
  5. Hold a degree in an analytical subject, such as engineering, geography, mathematics, or similar.
  6. Membership in a relevant professional institution, such as CIHT or TPS.
