Financial Controller

CARE International UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health and stability of our organization.

• Manage and operate the financial control framework, including maintenance of policies and procedures that support its effective operation.
• Lead the Financial Accounts Team, providing guidance and support to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements.
• Oversee the production of the annual statutory accounts and lead the statutory audit process for the CIUK Group.
• Develop and implement effective treasury management strategies, including robust and timely cash flow forecasting.
• Supervise the controls and processes that support the effective management of the balance sheet, including balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage good quality accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Manage tax for the charity and trading subsidiary, including VAT returns and Gift Aid.
• Provide financial accounting advice to colleagues across the organization in line with the requirements of the Charity SORP.

• A formally qualified accountant with relevant experience of financial accounting gained in a complex organization.
• Experience of producing year-end statutory accounts in Charities SORP format, preparing and adhering to year-end timelines, and being a key point of contact for auditors.
• An excellent communicator who is able to influence at all levels within the organization.
• Analytical with good judgment and decision-making capability.
