Ultrasound Specialist/ Advanced Practitioner
2 months ago
Position Overview
We are pleased to present an opportunity to become a valued member of our dedicated team as an Ultrasound Specialist within the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust. We seek a driven and passionate professional with a CASE Accredited Ultrasound qualification at PgCert/PGDip level or equivalent, specializing in Abdominal and/or Gynaecological and Obstetric imaging. Candidates with a background in Vascular Science are also encouraged to apply.
Experience in NT and possession of an FMF/DQASS number are highly advantageous. Familiarity with NHS hospital environments is preferred, along with UK qualifications to support the appropriate banding for this position. We are open to considering non-UK qualified applicants for a band 5 or 6 preceptorship role, contingent on their experience and skills, with a pathway to achieving band 7 status. The preceptorship period at our organization can extend up to 9 months.
Your primary work location will be designated, with some cross-site responsibilities expected.
Our team is composed of highly skilled professionals, supported by a Clinical Lead team. This role presents both challenges and rewards, offering numerous opportunities for professional growth and advancement in the field of Ultrasound. We actively encourage our staff to pursue their interests and engage in service enhancement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
The Ultrasound department boasts a well-established and successful trainee sonographer program, providing opportunities to mentor students. We maintain strong educational partnerships with local universities.
Sonographers are assigned to a primary site where they will spend the majority of their time, but may be required to provide coverage based on service demands at any of the trust's locations. All sites are conveniently located near urban centers and natural landscapes, with excellent transport links.
We support flexible working arrangements, and part-time positions are available and will be considered.
Our department is equipped with a wide array of state-of-the-art technology, which is regularly updated through a systematic replacement program. We participate in ongoing audits to enhance our work standards.
For further information or to arrange a visit, please feel free to reach out.
