Housekeeper Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team at Ribble Autism School in Lostock Hall.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming classrooms, hallways, offices, and other school areas.
  • Ensure that all designated areas are sanitised and maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Manage and dispose of waste in accordance with school policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies and notify the appropriate personnel when supplies need to be replenished.
  • Assist in organising and tidying classrooms, play areas, and common spaces to promote a neat and orderly environment.
  • Responsible for daily laundry tasks ensuring clean, dry towels and clothing are available.
  • Uphold health and safety standards at all times, including following relevant paperwork and protocols for handling cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial services, or a similar role is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently, with excellent time management skills.
  • Keyholding responsibilities may be required.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Compassionate, with a genuine interest in supporting children with autism.
  • Understanding of the importance of adherence to health and safety regulations.

The hours per week for this role are 10 hours 3pm - 5pm Monday to Friday.
