Key Responsibilities:

  1. Shopfloor Oversight: Lead and manage a team of electrical fitters, ensuring efficient and effective workflow.
  2. Technical Expertise: Provide expert advice to clients and the workshop on electric motor repairs, turbines, generators, gearboxes with a motor on, or a pump with a motor.
  3. Cost Management: Quote and review repair costs to ensure optimal pricing and profitability.
  4. Health and Safety: Ensure adherence to health and safety protocols at all times, maintaining a safe working environment.
  5. Site Work Oversight: Manage engineers' work on site, ensuring timely completion and quality of work.
  6. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to queries and resolving issues promptly.
  7. Workshop Maintenance: Maintain and upgrade workshop equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  8. Staff Management: Manage and develop workshop staff, including recruitment and training.
  9. Job Progression: Ensure timely job progression, meeting deadlines and targets.
  10. Supplier Liaison: Liaise with customers and suppliers to ensure smooth operations and optimal relationships.
  11. Safety Documentation: Oversee site work and safety documentation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  12. KPI Management: Manage KPIs, call-out rota, and housekeeping to maintain a high level of efficiency and productivity.
  13. Service Development: Suggest new services and partnerships to drive business growth and expansion.

Requirements:

  1. Background in Repairs: A background in repairs and services of electrical rotating equipment, including motors, gearboxes with motors on, pumps with motors on, generators, and turbines.
  2. Management Experience: Management or supervisory experience in this industry, or a senior background with relevant qualifications.
  3. Engineering Qualification: An engineering qualification from degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, or a time-served apprenticeship.
  4. Industry Experience: Experience within the motor/rotating equipment repair field and evidence of training by original equipment manufacturers.
  5. IT Skills: Strong IT skills to effectively manage and analyze data.
