Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert legal advice and support on derivatives transactions, including OTC derivatives, futures, options, and structured products.
  • Work closely with clients to structure, negotiate, and draft bespoke derivatives contracts, ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Stay up to date with the ever-evolving regulatory landscape and ensure clients' compliance with relevant derivatives regulations, including EMIR, MiFID II, and other applicable rules and guidelines.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their business needs and providing tailored legal solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including risk management, compliance, and operations, to ensure seamless delivery of legal services.

Requirements:

  • Strong academic background and a deep understanding of derivatives markets, products, and documentation.
  • Experience gained at a rival City law firm or in-house within the financial services industry.
  • Extensive knowledge of derivatives regulations and familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as EMIR and MiFID II.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
