Job Description

Job Title: Quality Assurance Specialist - Jewellery

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team at Anglo American plc. As a Quality Assurance Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of our jewellery products meets the high standards required by our company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough quality control checks on all shipments to ensure they meet our technical standards.
  • Inspection and Testing: Identify and report any handling and packaging issues, and suggest improvements to our quality control processes.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Accurately record all technical aspects of each piece on the appropriate technical sheet/SAP, and provide feedback to suppliers on any inspection faults.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with our Quality Control Team Leader and Quality Control Manager to monitor and reduce internal/external failure costs.
  • Compliance and Regulatory: Ensure that all products meet the required standards and regulations, and communicate with the London and Sheffield Assay offices to ensure compliance.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Perform metal analysis (XRF) checks on all inbound shipments and create reports quarterly, and submit samples for hardness testing every quarter.
  • Quality Standards: Oversee all SynthDetect checks to ensure all quality standards are upheld, maintain the KPI sheet and create an analysis based on these findings.
  • Product Returns: Conduct quality checks for all products returned from our franchises and escalate for joint decision-making on items to be returned to supplier or local workshop for any repairs required.
  • Administrative Tasks: Maintain stock accuracy and assist with bi-annual stock take, and perform cleaning and general office duties.

Requirements:

  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office and Outlook – intermediate, intermediate Excel & SAP system and Oracle is beneficial.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Ability to problem solve with information at their disposal, able to identify priorities and flexible approach to tasks, awareness of the luxury industry, focus on customer service and/or store background, good knowledge of jewellery manufacturing, clear, concise, creative and persuasive communicator (in writing and in person) across both internal and external stakeholders.
