Job Overview
The role of the Assistant Manager in Accounting and Financial Reporting is pivotal in assisting management to effectively deliver services across a diverse portfolio of corporate clients. This position emphasizes intricate financial reporting and consolidation tasks while overseeing a select group of corporate and not-for-profit clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary contact for clients, consistently demonstrating exemplary client service principles.
- Manage a small portfolio of corporate clients within the established internal budget, addressing any significant issues identified during assignments with the team.
- Plan assignments in alignment with the firm's standard operating procedures, confirming arrangements with clients, including anticipated costs and billing structures.
- Provide ongoing feedback to junior team members to foster their development.
- Cultivate and maintain advanced technical knowledge through relevant reading and training, ensuring compliance with professional bodies' Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
- Ensure assignments are executed according to instructions, handling complex aspects of assignments efficiently and thoroughly in line with the firm's protocols.
- Offer adequate briefing, supervision, and training for junior staff, reviewing their work for completeness and accuracy.
- Undertake additional duties as required by the line manager, Head of Department, or any partner, within the scope and purpose of the role.
Essential Qualifications:
- Fully qualified ACA / ACCA.
- Strong comprehension of UK financial reporting standards.
- Experience with complex consolidations.
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and ability to add value.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Well-developed skills in people management.
- Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Corporate Taxation.
