Due to significant commercial expansion, a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Operations Manager is sought to define and implement the supply chain strategy for a leading provider of precision metalwork, fabrications, and assemblies, boasting a diverse product range and a well-established clientele.

Our client serves some of the most recognized brands globally across various industries, including automotive, consumer electronics, industrial sectors, marine, medical, retail, vending, telecommunications, and energy. They are celebrated for their ability to deliver high-precision products in small batches while seamlessly transitioning between different products and assemblies based on demand.

The ideal candidate will leverage their experience in negotiating supply chain contracts to oversee material control processes, inventory management, forecasting, vendor selection, and scheduling. A professional, hands-on approach is crucial for effectively managing an annual expenditure of £4m.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and establish long-term agreements with key suppliers of specialized products.
  • Contribute to contract negotiations with clients to ensure supply chains align with contractual obligations.
  • Develop effective supply chain strategies to ensure timely production line support while enhancing cash flow and minimizing inventory levels.
  • Lead the supply chain team in implementing best practices and evaluating performance through established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Direct and coordinate global supply chain operations through strategic planning, resource optimization, and profitability enhancement, ultimately maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Enhance quality and timely delivery of the numerous specialized components required for assemblies.
  • Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to sourcing and procuring necessary materials and supplies to meet fluctuating product demand.
  • Collaborate with plant, warehouse, and logistics teams to establish intercompany transfer processes.
  • Work closely with the sales department to identify the most cost-effective distribution methods for delivering finished goods to clients.
  • Monitor and adjust inventory levels as necessary.
  • Partner with the goods in and goods out departments to determine optimal practices for fleet versus freight utilization.
  • Support the effective use of the ERP system (EFACS bespoke MRP - full training provided).



Skills & Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehouse management.
  • Quick learner capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining focus and adapting to various challenges.
  • Ability to execute detailed procedures in a time-sensitive environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a senior management team while leading their own team.
  • A commitment to a "company first" philosophy.
