The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Microsoft Systems Administrator to join our Infrastructure Team at Featurespace. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving our on-prem and cloud infrastructure.

This is a hybrid role based in our Cambridge office, requiring you to be comfortable coming into the office 2-3 times a week. If you require more flexibility, please speak to us.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Configure and support Microsoft systems to meet best practice, InfoSec, policy, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain, support, monitor, audit, and report on systems.
  • Manage reactive incidents, monitoring, and alerting.
  • Lead proactive service improvement projects.

About You

Must-Haves:

  • Enterprise Microsoft server and client skills, including architecture, installation, troubleshooting, and operational maintenance.
  • Management and optimization of AD, Azure, MS365, Hyper-V, RDS, Teams, SharePoint, WSO, AWS, MFA, SSO, and Conditional Access.
  • Backup technologies, including Veeam (local, Azure, AWS).
  • Automated OS and application patching technologies.
  • Enterprise storage technologies, including SAN and NAS (QSAN, DELL).
  • Data center monitoring and out-of-band hardware management.
  • Automation and scripting, including PowerShell, Ansible, VB, and Python.
  • IT Service Management, including incident, change, and configuration management.
  • Process-driven ITSM tooling, such as Jira or ServiceNow.
  • Structured troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Managing third-party support providers.
  • Authoring clear technical and user-facing documentation.
  • Disaster recovery scenario-testing and process improvement.

Great-to-Haves:

  • Understanding of DevOps/CICD environments.
  • LAN/WAN and TCP/IP networking troubleshooting.
  • Other virtualization platforms, such as OpenStack or VMWare.
  • Experience working in an audited (PCI DSS or equivalent) environment.
  • Familiarity with Linux operating systems.
  • Experience matrix-managing or leading teams.
