About the Role

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Heritage Development Director to join our client's team. As an Associate Director, you will play a key role in driving the heritage team forward and contributing to the growth of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on a number of projects from initial scoping advice to the submission of applications for planning permission and listed building consent.
  • Work closely with colleagues and clients to manage schemes, providing expert advice on how to develop with heritage assets sustainably.
  • Develop and implement strategies for the conservation and management of heritage assets.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure effective project delivery and stakeholder engagement.
  • Contribute to the development of the company's heritage services, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.

Requirements

  • Degree and/or post-graduate qualification in conservation, heritage or a related field, with demonstrable relevant experience.
  • Strong technical background relating to a wide range of historic buildings and areas, including designated and non-designated heritage assets.
  • Excellent written communication skills with demonstrable experience of assessing the significance and setting of heritage assets.
  • Capable of confidently engaging with colleagues, clients and the general public in a variety of environments.
