About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Engine Design Architect to join our team at Caterpillar. As a key member of our Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD), you will play a critical role in designing and developing innovative engine solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of engine design concepts, layouts, and packages that optimize cost, function, and delivery timing.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that engine designs meet customer requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design briefs, technical specifications, and test plans.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams to ensure that engine designs are producible and meet quality standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation in engine design.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in engine design and development, with a focus on internal combustion engines.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, thermodynamics, and materials science.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with design tools such as CAD, FEA, and CFD.
