Job Duties
As a Healthcare Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:
- Delivering first point of contact care for patients presenting with undifferentiated, undiagnosed issues, utilizing history-taking, physical examinations, and clinical decision-making skills to establish a working diagnosis and management plan in collaboration with the patient (and their caregivers when applicable).
- Providing high-quality clinical care to patients in accordance with established clinical guidelines, ensuring timely delivery.
- Conducting consultations (whether in-person, online, or via phone) with patients of all ages as an autonomous practitioner, employing your clinical judgment to diagnose, treat, refer, and/or discharge patients.
- Making referrals to secondary care and social services in line with locally agreed protocols, guidance, and pathways.
- Performing specialized diagnostic physical examinations and treatment procedures.
- Educating and instructing patients in preventative healthcare practices.
- Ensuring thorough and accurate documentation of each patient interaction.
- Assisting or conducting home visits as necessary or directed by clinical supervisors.
- Fully documenting all aspects of patient care and completing all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes.
- Carrying out necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpreting findings/reports within the scope of practice.
- Discussing the results and implications of laboratory investigations with patients.
- Utilizing clinical guidelines and promoting evidence-based practices.
- Offering a holistic service to patients and their families, developing ongoing care/support plans with an emphasis on prevention and self-care.
- Contributing to the practice's quality targets to consistently achieve high standards of safe, evidence-based, cost-effective patient care and service delivery.
- Collaborating with other members of the clinical team to fulfill the objectives of our contracts and contribute to the clinical and management development of healthcare provision.
Qualifications
Essential
- Physician Associate Postgraduate Diploma or master's degree from a university with a program accredited by the Faculty of Physician Associates at the Royal College of Physicians.
