Technical Specialist

G-TEKT Europe Manufacturing Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Technical Specialist to join our team. As a Technical Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety: Promote a culture of working safely by adhering to company Health & Safety and environmental standards at all times.
- Installation Support: Provide assistance with installations in the facility to ensure timely completion and quality standards.
- Maintenance Support: Collaborate with the maintenance team to resolve escalated equipment issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal production levels.
- Teamwork: Work effectively within a small team without supervision, reporting directly to the Technical Engineering Manager.
- Improvement Initiatives: Identify and implement improvements to equipment, processes, and workflows to enhance quality, efficiency, and productivity.
- Project Participation: Contribute to various projects and initiatives as required, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing priorities.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement activities, such as suggesting process improvements to increase production cell efficiency or enhance health & safety on the shop-floor.
- 5S Activities: Support 5S activities throughout the shop-floor, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Instruction Following: Adhere to instructions and guidelines to ensure maximum effectiveness and safety.
- Training and Development: Actively participate in training and development activities to enhance personal and team skills.
- Additional Responsibilities: Be prepared to undertake and support other reasonable requests made by the Technical Engineering Manager.
- Previous Experience: Previous experience in a busy factory or manufacturing environment is desirable.
- Multiskilling: Willingness to multi-skill and learn products and processes.
- Communication Skills: Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to problem-solve in a logical and methodical manner.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in robot programming, setup, and maintenance, including Nachi and Fanuc systems.
- PLC Control: Understanding of PLC control methods and fault finding.
- Joining Technologies: Good knowledge of joining technologies, including welding, resistance spot welding, and automated joining.
- PC and Time Management Skills: Good PC and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Approachability and Flexibility: Must be approachable, flexible, and willing to work additional hours when required.
- Weekend or Off-Shift Work: Willingness to work weekends or off-shifts as required by projects.
- Qualifications: Minimum of HNC in a related discipline.
- Experience and Understanding: Experience and understanding of robotic programming, Mig automated welding equipment, and resistance welding equipment and techniques.
- Time and Attendance: Excellent time and attendance record, with a logical, flexible, and self-motivated approach.
- Eye for Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve issues promptly.
- Holiday Entitlement: 25 days holiday + 8 Bank holidays.
- Working Hours: 37.5 hour week, worked Monday to Friday.
- Contract Type: Permanent contract.
- Pay Frequency: Monthly paid.
- Pension Scheme: Company Pension Scheme.
- Workwear and PPE: Work wear and PPE provided.
