Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Lead Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Engineering Manager and external specialists during development and analysis of mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Manage the day-to-day activities of the team and the production of deliverables.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and maintain the competency and skills of the team, project plan and schedule project activities, while managing the resolution of any related issues.
  • Design Solutions: Develop design solutions to agreed time, cost, and quality in accordance with project or business milestones.
  • Contractual Compliance: Ensure compliance against contractual requirements and that work is undertaken in accordance with company, safety, environmental, contractual, and local business processes, standards, procedures, and documentation.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support to integrated performance and acceptance activities, including acceptance of equipment from suppliers through to system acceptance by the customer.
  • Estimate Development: Support the development of estimates for the scope of work and resources required to deliver it in order to support bids, proposal development, and project planning activities for various systems.
  • Technical Input: Deliver technical input and engineering solutions in support of build activities, defect resolution, and change management.
  • System Design Verification: Perform calculations, modeling, analysis, etc. to maintain functional design intent through build and integration to commissioning and acceptance.
  • Technical Report Writing: Develop technical reports and provide demonstrable experience in the delivery of mechanical systems through the development lifecycle.
  • Technical Expertise: Apply technical expertise across the full engineering lifecycle, including specifying mechanical equipment and components (heat exchangers, pumps, diesel generators, hydraulic plant, compressors, etc).
Requirements
  • Experience: Comprehensive experience of applying technical expertise across the full engineering lifecycle.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and experience specifying mechanical equipment and components.
  • Skills: Technical report writing skills and demonstrable experience in the delivery of mechanical systems through the development lifecycle.
