About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Designated Safeguarding Lead to join our ambitious and highly collaborative Senior Leadership Team at Teaching Vacancies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures to ensure the highest possible standards and outcomes for all students.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and development to staff at all levels to ensure they are equipped to meet the safeguarding needs of students.
  • Build strong relationships with families and the local community to ensure effective safeguarding and support.
  • Develop a collaborative model of practice across the school to ensure effective safeguarding and support.
  • Contribute to the overall leadership and management of the academy, ensuring all staff work according to our shared values to secure the highest possible standards and outcomes for all students.

Requirements

  • Safeguarding or Child Protection Qualification
  • Formal DSL training
  • Safeguarding leadership experience in a relevant setting
  • Deep knowledge of what constitutes effective safeguarding
  • Direct experience in successfully improving outcomes and life chances of disadvantaged pupils
  • Knowledge and understanding of strategic planning for academy development and improvement
  • A clear and coherent vision which is consistent with the vision of Teaching Vacancies
  • Ability to take a strategic view in order to determine a clear pathway to achieve future goals
