Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Recovery Specialist to join our team at Turning Point. As a key member of our recovery services team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with substance use and mental health issues to achieve their recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a key worker to a caseload of service users, providing regular contact, advice, information, and psycho-social interventions to support their recovery journey.
- Develop and maintain relationships with service users, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their needs and goals.
- Work closely with clinical staff to provide assessments, risk management planning, and support with prescribing needs and partner agencies.
- Provide training and support to colleagues to enhance their skills and knowledge in substance use and mental health recovery.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of recovery plans, ensuring they are tailored to the individual's needs and goals.
Requirements:
- Experience working in a substance use or mental health recovery setting, preferably in a key worker or support worker role.
- Knowledge of substance use and mental health recovery principles, including the recovery model and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with service users, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meet the needs of the service.
- Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems.
