37.5 hours per week - plus 1 Saturday per month in a split shift as overtime

As a vital member of our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU), you will be responsible for the transportation of sterile and disinfected surgical instruments to our network of healthcare facilities. Candidates must possess a full driving license with a C1 entitlement, enabling the operation of rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tons Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), along with a digital tachograph card. While a full Driver Qualification card (CPC - Certificate of Professional Competence) is beneficial, comprehensive training will be provided.

In your role as a Driver within our Cambridge HSSU Hub team, you should be adept at manual handling and prepared to maneuver transport trolleys weighing over 250kg. A fundamental understanding of current driver hour regulations is essential, and ideally, you will hold a driver digital tachograph card. You will represent our unit and be the first point of contact for our customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collecting and delivering items using a van or car, driving 5.2T vehicles.
  • Receiving and verifying deliveries of medical devices from clients.
  • Ensuring equipment is maintained in optimal condition and reporting any issues.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized work environment while identifying stock discrepancies.
  • Accurately recording tachograph data and maintaining necessary documentation.
  • Exhibiting flexibility in your working hours (shifts operate between 2am and 9pm, Monday to Friday, with varying times on Saturdays).
