About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Transformation Strategist to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our Digital Leadership Team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital strategy that aligns with our company's strategic ambitions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Maintain Digital Strategy: Create and implement a digital strategy that supports BT Group's transformation into a digital and AI-first, customer-led, platform-based business.
  • Research and Integration: Conduct research on the latest industry innovations, external insights, and peer activity to inform and integrate into the digital strategy and roadmap.
  • Collaboration and Alignment: Work closely with Strategy & Change at BT and other units' strategy teams to ensure strong connections between digital outcomes and strategic priorities.
  • Investment and Business Planning: Ensure that digital's annual investment and business plan is aligned to the strategy, with clear articulation of technology and commercial choices and trade-offs.
  • Outcome-Based Targets: Define and lock-in challenging multi-year outcome-based targets (OKRs / KPIs) that will enable the strategy, including targets for workforce sizing, productivity, supplier costs, efficiency, transformation, AI/Gen AI, and growth.
  • Digital Roadmap: Build and run a multi-year digital roadmap, identifying clear 'moments of truth' and critical decision-points.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Engage multiple stakeholder groups internally and externally in the digital strategy and its outcomes, up to and including Board level.
  • Communication Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive communication strategy to articulate the digital strategy, ensuring alignment and utilizing all channels to inspire and engage employees in the pursuit of our shared goals.
Requirements
  • Strategy Definition and Execution: Proven experience in strategy definition and execution, with a strong understanding of digital transformation.
  • Inspirational Communication: Excellent inspirational and empathetic communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Board-Level Stakeholder Management: Strong board-level stakeholder management skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizations and drive results in matrixed environments.
  • Commercial Acumen: Commercial acumen, with a strong understanding of digital business models and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Business Consultancy: Experience in business consultancy, with a strong understanding of digital transformation and the ability to drive business outcomes.
