Our nursery comprises a diverse team of committed individuals, from trainees to experienced practitioners, all sharing a passion for creating a nurturing and engaging atmosphere for the children entrusted to us.
In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of a designated room, managing care routines and activities while conducting developmental assessments for the children. You will also lead a team of level 2 and 3 Nursery Practitioners, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, documentation, and other essential records.
Additionally, you may mentor an apprentice, providing them with valuable experiences within the nursery setting.
We cater to children from 6 months until they transition to school, and as part of the NHS, our nursery is highly recommended by families, reflecting the high standards of care associated with NHS services.
Our nursery operates full-day care for 51 weeks a year, Monday to Friday, with a flexible rota system for hours worked each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Uphold the quality of care and educational opportunities for children, supporting the Early Years Foundation Stage.
- Assist the Nursery Manager/Deputy Manager in the development and administration of the nursery, taking on responsibilities in their absence.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, OFSTED regulations, and organizational policies within the nursery.
- Take full responsibility for the efficient operation of a specific room, ensuring all children's needs are met and any concerns are communicated to management.
- Supervise Nursery Nurses and Assistants, as well as apprentices and students in your designated room.
- Maintain accurate developmental records for children and report to the Nursery Manager at agreed intervals.
- Demonstrate and promote best practices regarding special needs and inclusion, collaborating with the nursery's INCO as necessary.
- Open and close the nursery as required.
- Ensure that care and educational standards in your room align with OFSTED requirements and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Act as a key carer, building relationships with a small group of children and their families.

Essential Qualifications
