Position: Purchasing Specialist

Grafton Recruitment is collaborating with a client in the Stockport region to recruit a skilled purchasing specialist. This role involves overseeing the procurement and contract management of a diverse array of goods and services.
The successful candidate will manage procurement initiatives, assist stakeholders throughout the procurement journey, implement contracts, identify cost-saving opportunities, and monitor supplier performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering procurement guidance internally and managing procurement initiatives.
- Assisting stakeholders with tender processes and procurement needs.
- Coordinating tender activities, drafting tender documents, and managing contracts.
- Enhancing and maintaining procurement systems and controls.
- Overseeing and evaluating supplier performance and ensuring contract adherence.
- Generating reports and ensuring alignment with procurement policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a procurement or purchasing capacity.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with a preference for SAP familiarity.
- Experience in executing structured procurement processes, particularly in the public sector.
- Skilled in preparing tenders and contracts from templates, as well as managing supply contracts.
- Proven ability to implement service enhancements and achieve cost reductions.
- Strong skills in relationship management and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience in monitoring supplier performance and key performance indicators (KPIs).
