Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Wembley Manor School. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with a range of special educational needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Assist teachers with learning activities, ensuring health and safety and good behavior of pupils.
  • Support students in accessing learning activities as directed by the teacher to enable progress towards their targets.
  • Provide clerical/admin support, including typing, photocopying, and display of materials.
  • Undertake basic recording keeping in respect of pupil learning, behavior management, and child protection.
  • Be aware of and comply with policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to the overall work/aims of the school and appreciate and support the role of colleagues and other professionals.
  • Implement behavior management programs for pupils with severe learning and/or emotional problems.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working with children with special educational needs.
  • Basic technology skills within an education setting.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety, security, equal opportunities, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to relate well to children and adults, understanding their needs and responding accordingly.
  • Good influencing skills to encourage pupils to interact with others and be socially responsible.
  • First Aid qualification would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willingness to process one.
  • Minimum of 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years.
